Marking the fifth anniversary of the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York; an invitation to "Finders Keepers" at Springs Projects in Brooklyn, curated by Hannah Beerman and Cate Holt.
My days weren’t as bad because I had my studio and my garden and my husband and I are used to working home alone
A neighbor brought us masks and a hen house when another neighbor gave us 8 baby chicks. The big event of the day was watching the local Muscovy duck bring her ducklings to our fountain and teach them how to swim
The search for vaccine appointments ended when a friend got us a pair in Broward county and we drove 60 miles on Valentine’s Day That was the first day in almost a year that we’d been out of our house to do anything other than wait in line at Trader Joe’s
When a New York friend arrived and we sat masked in the garden six feet apart
I marveled that she got on a plane
The fear we lived with then is only now comparable to what we are now living thru Alas Deja vu all over again
love reading your reflection. oh how different for me.
It’s a tough flashback personally- thanks for sharing. Similar experiences although radically different environment.
Deja vu all over again
